CLIENTS / PROJECTS
I've been lucky to work with some great clients across many varied and interesting projects.
Alongside regular travel and tourism writing, I've researched and written about consumer trends, wine, private education, pet food, geothermal engineering, junior rugby league and gelato to name just a few.
Some of my current and former projects include:
As Editor of the AA Traveller website, I have sole responsibility for managing the editorial content on aatravel.co.nz. My role involves researching and writing stories, sourcing imagery, building web pages and commissioning new content from a network of freelance writers around New Zealand. With more than 650 unique editorial pages including the current 101 Must-Do’s this Summer, the site is a valuable resource for domestic travellers in New Zealand.
I worked with Brandspank on a project to interview their client’s clients. I spoke with key stakeholders at Meridian, Contact, Mercury and Genesis Energy – the clients of a hydroelectric and geothermal engineering services provider – to create an insightful platform that was used to refine and develop customer service strategies and offerings.
Since 2013, I have been involved in numerous projects with Unified Brands. I've conducted many interviews with Unified's clients to capture and convey their stories – covering sectors from FMCG to education and much in between. By talking to key stakeholders, then transcribing, aggregating and refining their responses, I create valuable documents that form new brand platforms. I also do regular FMCG copywriting work for Unified and was previously responsible for managing the company blog and Instagram account.
Auld farm Distillery
I interviewed the founders of Auld Farm Distillery and wrote the story that underpins their new brand. I also created the website copy for Auld Farm, based on the brand’s tone and style.
I have worked Global Games since 2016, crafting press releases for their annual and increasingly popular junior sports tournaments – the Junior Rugby Festivals in Taupō and Queenstown, the Whakatāne Kiwi Junior Rugby League Festival and, most recently, the newly founded Global Games Academy.
I worked with Sparks Interactive to create compelling website copy for their client, Tourism Fiji – researching and writing a number of stories and short blog posts for the site. I also completed a full re-write of the 13 unique destination pages.
douglas outdoor & textile innovation
I worked with the new owners of Douglas Outdoor & Textile Innovation to refresh and re-write the copy for their new website – updating, editing and refining 30+ pages of content to reflect their more contemporary style.
sam harrop mw
Between 2013 -2014, I worked with Master of Wine Sam Harrop to help establish his New Zealand-based brand and communications strategy. I created website content and Mailchimp email campaigns as well as editing and contributing to his regular wine articles. I also researched and helped prepare speeches and presentations for global wine events, including the International Wine Challenge, of which he was the Co-Chairman.
Wherewolf is an innovative technology company based in Queenstown that creates software and apps for tourism operators. My role with Wherewolf involved interviewing their clients and writing editorial case studies that promote their tourism services.
